LONG ADDITION
Long addition is the method of adding numbers together. As a rule, the following steps are followed to add two or more numbers to produce the sum.
STEP 1 : Stack the numbers to be added and align numbers under each columns by place value (Ones, Tens, Hundreds, Thousands…)
For example, let us Add: 32 + 574

STEP 2 : Add the numbers in each column starting from right and enter the sum in answer space under each column.
2 + 4 = 6. Enter 6 under Ones column

STEP 3 : Move to the next column. If the column sum is greater than nine, carry the additional digit to the top of next column.
3 + 7 = 10 (Greater than 9). Enter 2nd digit of 10, which is 0, under Tens Column and carry 1st digit of 10, which is 1, to top of Hundreds column

STEP 4 : Finally, complete by adding the numbers under Hundreds column.
5 + 1 = 6. Enter 6 under Hundreds column
